ACTE's 2024 National Work-Based Learning Conference

Social and emotional learning (SEL) has been shown to be crucial to student success in school and beyond. The development of SEL skills helps students navigate social interactions, build relationships, and manage emotions, all of which are important for success in the workplace. In this presentation, we will explore the connection between SEL and work-based learning experiences in the classroom, identify specific SEL competencies strengthened by work-based learning, and develop participants’ toolkits for supporting work-based learning in their districts. Learn how the power of work-based learning classes can accelerate students’ social and emotional learning while empowering students to pave a pathway for the rest of their lives.
