The Virginia Tech College of Engineering’s Center for Enhancement of Engineering Diversity and CareerGateway.io secondary/post-secondary partnership leverages emerging technologies and advanced mentoring to support students from 5th to 12th grade and their teachers, mentors, and employers in technical career and college exploration. We provide resources and training in durable skills and other workplace readiness skills to meet the evolving needs of students in their first workplace exposures, whether in-person or virtual. With training in AI and other education technology skills, participants are prepared for functional roles in their host organizations. Our scalable, replicable coordination helps WBL administrators, hosts, and mentors navigate common challenges in supporting early career experiences.
