Work-based learning programs like internships, apprenticeships, and career exploration give high school students invaluable opportunities to develop real-world skills and connect classroom learning to future careers. However, many families and community members remain unaware of these programs or how to access them.
In this interactive session, participants will learn strategies for spreading awareness and excitement around work-based learning opportunities at the grassroots level. We’ll share ideas for educating parents, engaging community leaders, and leveraging local businesses to become champions and partners in building high-quality work-based learning programs. Participants will leave with a set of tools and actionable next steps for getting families and communities “work-based learning smart."
