In this session, you will learn how the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) and Riipen, the world’s work-based learning marketplace, are partnering together in multiple regions within the U.S. to connect industry and higher education in providing work-based learning opportunities to adult learners. Adult Learners’ educational path must provide them with alternative ways to participate in education and training opportunities that will provide a direct link from learning to work. CAEL and Riipen are working with industry leaders in each region to identify target occupations and career pathways within the financial services sector and create project-based internship opportunities to those enrolled at higher education institutions within the region. This provides the educational institutions with opportunities for those who cannot participate in a traditional internship program, employers a chance to partner with the higher education institutions in their region to find the talent that they need while receiving valuable insight into the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the students/potential employees.
